Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik

Despite being well-known for his solo songs, attractiveness, and distinctive haircuts, Zayn Malik has struggled with major eating disorders. He struggled to maintain good eating habits as a member of One Direction, the British band that rocked the globe. This was particularly true when on tour.

“I’d simply go for days – sometimes two or three days straight – without eating anything at all,” Malik wrote of his times in the band. According to him, being in 1D severely altered his Eating disorder due to the intensity and speed of life. “I suppose it was about control,” he said. Food was something I could manage, and because I didn’t feel like I had control over anything else in my life, I did… I was sick because of how much weight I had dropped.

Zayn has overcome his anxiousness and adopted healthier habits after receiving an eating disorder diagnosis.

Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse

This singer has been in and out of the news, becoming legendary for both her rhythmic songs and her premature death. Amy Winehouse overdosed and her away in 2011, and it’s often assumed that her bulimia contributed to the untimely passing.

Amy’s depressive state caused her to develop bad habits and vices, such as binge eating and subsequently forcing herself to vomit. The singer would have a “big dinner, vanish for 45 minutes, then return with smudged makeup,” according to coworkers.

She consumed a huge amount of alcohol while being very underweight due to her bulimia, which was definitely not advised given her stature. Even her brother acknowledged that Amy’s bulimia contributed significantly to her death, saying, “She would have passed away soon, the way she was going, but what truly killed her was the bulimia. She would have been physically stronger if she had not suffered from an Eating disorder.

This former child star has dealt with issues related to identity and physical appearance. Demi Lovato bravely disclosed their Eating disorder  condition in their YouTube series, Simply Complicated. Starting as early as age 8, they had an up-and-down fight with bulimia and purging, but they managed to kick those habits for three years before going through a difficult breakup.

According to Lovato, they started by purging in attempt to deal with the pain. I don’t want to let anybody down, so when I do have times when I mess up, I feel really humiliated. The less I have to worry about food, the simpler it is to go about living a regular life. And when I’m lonely, my heart becomes hungry, so I overeat.

Since then, Lovato has made an effort to live a healthier lifestyle and expresses themselves using they/them pronouns. Despite this, they acknowledge that overcoming Eating disorder is still difficult: “I don’t want to give it the ability to dictate my every thought, but it’s something that I’m always thinking about. It’s always about my body image, what I want I was eating, what I hope I was eating next, and what I wish I wasn’t eating.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff, the beloved comedy actress from our youth, has struggled with Eating disorder and body image issues far too often. She revealed how unhealthily her adolescent years were while speaking with Health Magazine.

She weighed only 98 pounds at age 17. Duff continued by expressing her remorse for that period of her life and confessing to having an Eating disorder. “I was completely fixated on whatever I consumed. I was not cute; I was much too slender. My hands would often cramp up because I wasn’t receiving the nutrients I required, and my body wasn’t in great shape either.

After having her baby, tabloids started to make fun of her figure. But after participating in this rodeo previously, she made the decision to treat such critiques with a grain of salt after the birth of her baby. Hilary claims that after changing her diet, she is happy than ever.

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran discussed his problematic connection with food and issues with body image in a Rolling Stone interview. The singer said that he began comparing himself to other male stars as soon as he entered the music industry.

Sheeran said that he already felt self-conscious but added, “You get into an industry where you’re being compared to every other pop artist.” “Well, why don’t I have a six pack?” I asked myself after being caught up in the One Direction wave. And I said, “Oh, because you like beer and kebabs.” Then you record songs with Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber. These individuals all have amazing physiques. And I was always thinking, “Well, why am I so… fat?” he said.

Ed said, “So I found myself doing what Elton speaks about in his book — gorging, and then it would come back again.” He was making a comparison to Elton John, who openly acknowledged to having bulimia.

Despite admitting to having “a major food issue,” Ed Sheeran now places a strong emphasis on exercise. “I definitely binge eat. I binge consume everything. But I now tend to workout in spurts… If you exercise, eat the foods you actually like to consume, and take care of your appearance in general. That strikes a really excellent balance, in my opinion. I adore fast food, therefore I eat. I like curry. I like sipping fine wine. I adore all the negative health effects of not exercising. But I think I’d lose my mind if I didn’t have any carbs at all.

Mary-Kate Olsen

Mary-Kate Olsen

The baby sister of the Full House family (or, should we say, half of the baby sister?) is another kid star who has joined our list. At age 17, Mary-parents Kate’s admitted her to a rehab center so she could get treatment for her anorexia after she started “looking different…with bags under her eyes” and stopped eating. The family “hired someone to supervise her eating” since things had become so awful.

But even before this, a notion that Mary-Kate and her twin sister had Eating disorder was starting to spread. In a previous interview, Oprah boldly confronted the notion by asking the girls what size they were, to which they surprise responded, “petite.”

The girls are often out of the spotlight these days, giving us optimism that their eating habits are under control even if it was obviously an unpleasant occasion.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan

At such an early age, the Mean Girls actress won our hearts and became known as America’s Sweetheart. Although Lindsay Lohan is well-known for her drug usage, few people are aware of her battles with bulimia and anorexia.

She lost a lot of weight during her peak years in the early 2000s, which caused many people to look at her with worry. When her drug usage and malnutrition resulted in a kidney ailment, Lohan realized she had to change.

“I felt ill. Everybody was terrified. I was terrified as well. At the time, Lohan said, “I had people sit me down and tell me, ‘You’re going to die if you don’t take care of yourself. The actress now utilizes her platform to advocate for others who have the same issues.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie

For the majority of her life, Angelina Jolie has had Eating disorder, and for even longer, she has faced criticism for her looks. She was often mentioned in tabloids for being so thin that her veins protruded or for having such a severe weight reduction that it seemed as if she had had surgery.

The A-list actress, however, checked herself into a hospital in September 2021 due to her Eating disorder. Later that day, a source claimed to National Enquirer that “her nonexistent eating habits have been the elephant in the room for longer than anybody can recall.”

The celebrity battled anorexia as a kid and, according to reports, even sought treatment for “eating difficulties” brought on by worry only a few years ago.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift, a popular singer, has also revealed her personal troubles. The singer acknowledged that one of the major challenges she had in the spotlight was her looks when she debuted her documentary, Miss Americana.

Swift described how she was often scolded for being either too fat or too thin, which would send her into a destructive cycle of not eating. Swift said that she would “just trigger me to just starve a little bit — just stop eating” when she saw “a photo of me where I felt like I looked like my belly was too large, or… someone commented that I looked pregnant.”

The Evermore artist is now happier with her life and only follows her passions, not those of others. “I assumed that I was meant to feel like I was going to pass out at the conclusion of a concert, or in the midst of it,” she said, adding to the disclosure. Now I understand that, “No, you can perform all these shows and not feel (enervated) if you consume food, have energy, and grow stronger.

Lily Rose Depp

Lily Rose Depp

Lily Rose, a famous beauty and the daughter of Johnny Depp, struggled with anxiety as a youngster. Her parents tried their best to conceal her identity as she grew up, but when she seemed too thin in the spotlight, rumors started to spread.

Years later, the actress came out and acknowledged to having anorexia, saying, “I have spent a lot of energy battling the disorder. It was quite challenging for me to cope with anorexia when I was much younger.
